Merry Mice

Merry Mice...
Hello Friends and welcome!  For today’s card, I’m showcasing this adorable Holiday set from Avery Elle (Christmas Mice) and Copic coloring.  These mice are just the cutest and the set is packed full of fun images to create a fun and festive scene.
To start, I stamped images onto X-press it blending card using Memento Tuxedo dye ink.  After all the stamping was complete, I die cut the images using the coordinating dies.
I next began Copic coloring the images using a traditional Christmas color palette including reds and greens, with a touch of yellow.
To create the background which I hoped would ground this festive scene, I die cut Avery Elle polka dot backdrop, then used the cut out as a stencil.  I ink blended Distress Ink in Hickory Smoke on a piece of Neenah solar white cardstock before die cutting the panel using a Wonky Stitched rectangle.  To help ground the scene even more, I stamped and die cut the “picnic blanket” from Lawn Fawn’s Crazy Antics stamp/die set.  I just love having the ability to mix and match from companies, really can stretch your crafty stash supplies.
Once I had the majority of the elements completed, I stamped the sentiment onto a piece of black cardstock, white heat embossed, and finally fussy cut.  To finish, I assembled the elements and adhered to a black cardstock card base.
Sending everyone Holiday Merriment and Cheer!  Thanks so much for stopping by...take care!

Season of Blessings

Season of Blessings...
Hello Friends and welcome!  Sharing this project today which features an absolutely adorable set from Hello bluebird (Fall Banner Buddies), Copic coloring, and Ink Blending using Distress Inks (forest moss and gathered twigs).
To begin, I stamped several images from this set onto X-press it blending card using Memento Rich Cocoa dye ink.  Once images where stamped, I die cut these using the coordinating die set.  Next, I Copic colored each image.
After the images where colored, I began working on my background.  I chose the Knitted Sweater BG stamp from MyFavoriteThings using Ripe Avocado dye ink from Paper Trey Ink onto a piece of coordinating cardstock.  I then die cut a piece of Cream cardstock from SimonSaysStamp using Lawn Fawn’s small stitched squares die set.  I ink blended the bottom portion of the square using the above mentioned inks.
To finish, I assembled the elements then adhered to a SimonSaysStamp Cream cardstock card base.  The finished card measures 4 1/4 x 4 1/4 square card.
Thanks so much for stopping by today...Happy Thanksgiving!

Many Thanks

Many Thanks...

Hello Friends and welcome!  Fall has fully arrived in my neck of the woods and I find myself moving away from bright and bold colors of summer to more jewel and/or muted tones for my cards.  Today’s card features just that idea where with Copics, I chose a more rustic feel and wanted the colors to evoke the feeling of a crisp Fall day.

Today’s card features this super cute set from Avery Elle (Aw, Nuts) and Copic coloring.  Isn’t the tiny coffee cup just the cutest?!  To start, I stamped the squirrel/nut house and several leaves from the set and die cut using the coordinating die.  I thought having the nut house hang from a tree branch would add a little more interest to the card without taking away from the CAS (Clean and Simple) feel of the card.  I dug through my Avery Elle stash and found a tree branch from another cutie set (O Tiny Tree).  I masked part of the “tree” off and stamped, then die cut using the coordinating die then fussy cutting the bottom portion.

After the images where die cut, I then Copic colored images.  Next, I die cut a piece of Lawn Fawn’s white woodgrain cardstock and die cut a stitched circle from kraft cardstock.

To finish, I stamped sentiment onto a piece of black cardstock and white heat embossed.  I trimmed the sentiment then assembled elements before adhering to a kraft cardstock card base.  Thanks so much for stopping by...take care!

Boo To You

Boo To You...

Hello Friends and welcome!  Today’s card features this adorable Halloween set from Avery Elle Stamps (Boo To You) and Copics coloring.  To start, I stamped image using Memento Tuxedo black dye ink which is Copic friendly ink, then die cut using coordinating die set.  Next, I Copic colored the images going from my darkest shade to lightest, the adding a little more dark to the shadows hoping to intensify the colors.  I then began working on my background by first Die Cutting Lawn Fawn’s Starry Night backdrop using navy cardstock and then Die Cutting Lawn Fawn’s Grassy Hillsides using a dark green cardstock.  To finish, I assembled elements and adhered to a kraft card base.  Thanks so much for stopping by...take care!

Sending Sunflowers and Sunshine...
Hello Friends and welcome!  Today’s card features this lovely floral set from Altenew (Paint-a-Flower: Sunflower), watercoloring using Altenew watercolor brush markers in Autumn Festival, and Ink Blending using Distress Inks (peeled paint, bundled sage, and scattered straw).  To start, I stamped floral image onto a piece of Strathmore hot pressed watercolor using Versafine Clair pigment ink in Acorn then heat embossed using Hero Arts clear embossing powder.  I next began watercoloring image by first added color directly to image the going over using a damp brush.  I choose to practice a loose watercoloring style by not applying color over the entire floral image.  Next, I began to work on the BG by ink blending the above mentioned Distress Inks over a Neenah solar white cardstock panel using Lawn Fawn’s plaid stencil set.  To finish, I stamped sentiment, white heat embossed, fussy cut, then assembled elements and adhered to card base.  Thanks so much for stopping by...take care!

Coneflowers for Friends

 Coneflowers for Friends...

Hello and welcome!  Today’s card features this pretty floral die set from Honeybee Stamps (Lovely Layers: Coneflower) and Concord&9th cardstock.  To start, I die cut the layers of this floral set using Concord&9th’s cardstock in cranberry, sorbet, grapefruit, and parsley.  Once the layers where cut, I ink blended each one using Distress Inks to add a little bit more dimension to the petals and leaves.  From darkest to lightest, I used aged mahogany, ripe persimmon, tattered rose, and rustic wilderness for the leaves.  For the center of the Coneflower, I used Stardust cardstock and ink blended fossilized amber onto the edges.  I then stamped MFT’s circle scribbles BG stamp onto a trimmed piece of Neenah solar white cardstock and the cardbase.  For the sentiment, I stamped Honeybee Stamps Bitty Buzzwords.  I white heat embossed the “hello” and stamped the “friend” using Versafine Onyx black pigment ink.  To finish, I assembled elements, adhered to card base and added a few dew drops.  Thanks so much for stopping by...take care!

Good Vibes Flower

Good Vibes Flower...

Hello Friends and welcome!  Today’s card features this lovely floral set/BG stamp from SimonSaysStamp (Center Cut Flowers) and watercoloring using Altenew Artists watercolors set.  To start, I stamped floral image onto a piece of Strathmore hot press watercolor paper and heat embossed using SimonSaysStamp Antique Gold embossing powder.  I then began watercoloring this image using a wet-on-wet technique hoping for a loose style of watercolor.  By using this style of watercoloring, I was able to drop the color into the area and the embossed lines helped keep the color from mixing to much into one another.  Next, I stamped sentiment from SimonSaysStamp Tiny Words sentiment set and again heat embossed using above mentioned embossing powder.  To finish, I die cut watercolored panel using the stitched rectangle from the SimonSaysStamp stitched bundled set, assembled elements and adhered to card base.  Thanks so much for stopping by... take care!  Please note: this card has been submitted to the current SimonSaysStamp Flickr Challenge #181

Hello Friends and welcome!  Today’s card features this super cute set from Lawn Fawn (On the Beach), Copic coloring, and Ink Blending using Distress Inks (salty ocean, tumbled glass, tea dye, and vintage photo).  To start, I masked off all four sides of my A2 Neenah solar white cardstock panel using blue painters type.  I wanted a clean crisp edge to help frame this scene.  Once rectangle was masked, I began Ink Blending using above mentioned inks.  I added the darkest colors to the top and bottom ink blending towards the middle.  Next, I stamped several images from the set, die cut out using coordinating dies, then Copic colored images.  I then began building my scene, added a few details to the sand, then adhered images to panel, and panel to card base.  To finish, I stamped sentiment, and added a few more details using a white gel pen.  With summer days flying by, I do hope everyone’s had a chance to kick back and relax like this little cutie!  Thanks so much for stopping by...take care!

Lotus Watercolor

Lotus Watercolor...
Hello and welcome!  Today’s card features Altenew Paint-a-Flower subscription: Lotus and watercoloring using Derwent Ink Intense pencils.  Altenew’s Paint-a-Flower sets are a perfect way to practice your coloring skills.  Coloring is one of most favored technique when cardmaking and I chose Derwent’s Ink Intense pencils for this project.  I began by stamping image using Versafine Onyx black pigment onto a piece of Strathmore ready cut watercolor paper then heat embossed using Hero Arts clear embossing powder.  The embossed lines act like pools, trapping the color inside the lines.  Next, I began watercoloring by first added a light wash of color and water then going back over intensifying colors and shadows.  Once panel was complete, I set it aside to dry and began working on the sentiment.  I chose a few sentiments that came with this set.  I chose to stamp sentiments using Versafine Onyx black pigment ink and again heat embossed using clear embossing powder but chose to stamp sentiments onto a piece of Neenah desert storm cardstock.  To finish this card, I assembled elements and adhered to card base before added a few PrettyPinkPosh clear drops.  Thanks so much for stopping by...take care!

No Line Picked Bouquet

 No Line Picked Bouquet...

Hello Friends and welcome!  Today’s card features this lovely floral set from My Favorite Things (Freshly Picked Bouquet) and No-Line Watercoloring technique using Gansai Tambi watercolors.  To start, I inked this floral image using Inkon3 Fade Out ink then stamped onto a piece of Fabriano bright white hot press watercolor paper.  Inkon3 Fade out ink is a great ink for no-line watercoloring, the ink allows for a great detailed impression and the soft gray color of the ink allows for you to follow the outlines of your stamped image.  After stamping the image, I began watercoloring using a light wash of color, then going back over intensifying the colors and shadows.  Once panel was watercolored and dry, I die cut using a MFT’s A2 Stitched Rectangle set 2.  To finish, I stamped sentiment, adhered panel to a MFT’s something blue cardstock card base, and added a few PrettyPinkPosh jewels.  Thanks so much for stopping by...take care!

Hello Friends and welcome!  Today’s card features this lovely floral set from Pretty Pink Posh (Crocus Flowers) and watercoloring using Altenew watercolor brush markers (Winter Wonderland).  To start, I stamped images onto a piece of Fabriano hot press extra white watercolor paper then gold heat embossed.
