Relaxing Day On the Beach

Relaxing Day On the Beach...
Hello Friends and welcome!  Today’s card features this super cute set from Lawn Fawn (On the Beach), Copic coloring, and Ink Blending using Distress Inks (salty ocean, tumbled glass, tea dye, and vintage photo).  To start, I masked off all four sides of my A2 Neenah solar white cardstock panel using blue painters type.  I wanted a clean crisp edge to help frame this scene.  Once rectangle was masked, I began Ink Blending using above mentioned inks.  I added the darkest colors to the top and bottom ink blending towards the middle.  Next, I stamped several images from the set, die cut out using coordinating dies, then Copic colored images.  I then began building my scene, added a few details to the sand, then adhered images to panel, and panel to card base.  To finish, I stamped sentiment, and added a few more details using a white gel pen.  With summer days flying by, I do hope everyone’s had a chance to kick back and relax like this little cutie!  Thanks so much for stopping by...take care!

Lotus Watercolor

Lotus Watercolor...
Hello and welcome!  Today’s card features Altenew Paint-a-Flower subscription: Lotus and watercoloring using Derwent Ink Intense pencils.  Altenew’s Paint-a-Flower sets are a perfect way to practice your coloring skills.  Coloring is one of most favored technique when cardmaking and I chose Derwent’s Ink Intense pencils for this project.  I began by stamping image using Versafine Onyx black pigment onto a piece of Strathmore ready cut watercolor paper then heat embossed using Hero Arts clear embossing powder.  The embossed lines act like pools, trapping the color inside the lines.  Next, I began watercoloring by first added a light wash of color and water then going back over intensifying colors and shadows.  Once panel was complete, I set it aside to dry and began working on the sentiment.  I chose a few sentiments that came with this set.  I chose to stamp sentiments using Versafine Onyx black pigment ink and again heat embossed using clear embossing powder but chose to stamp sentiments onto a piece of Neenah desert storm cardstock.  To finish this card, I assembled elements and adhered to card base before added a few PrettyPinkPosh clear drops.  Thanks so much for stopping by...take care!

No Line Picked Bouquet

 No Line Picked Bouquet...

Hello Friends and welcome!  Today’s card features this lovely floral set from My Favorite Things (Freshly Picked Bouquet) and No-Line Watercoloring technique using Gansai Tambi watercolors.  To start, I inked this floral image using Inkon3 Fade Out ink then stamped onto a piece of Fabriano bright white hot press watercolor paper.  Inkon3 Fade out ink is a great ink for no-line watercoloring, the ink allows for a great detailed impression and the soft gray color of the ink allows for you to follow the outlines of your stamped image.  After stamping the image, I began watercoloring using a light wash of color, then going back over intensifying the colors and shadows.  Once panel was watercolored and dry, I die cut using a MFT’s A2 Stitched Rectangle set 2.  To finish, I stamped sentiment, adhered panel to a MFT’s something blue cardstock card base, and added a few PrettyPinkPosh jewels.  Thanks so much for stopping by...take care!
