You Make Me Smile

You Make Me Smile…

Hello Friends and welcome!  Today’s card features a cute set from My Favorite Things “Sunshine Friends” and watercoloring using Zig Clean Color markers.  I first trimmed a piece of Neenah solar white cardstock and ink blended panel using Distrss Inks in peacock feathers and salvaged patina (top) then grabbed MFT’s “Grassy Edges” stencil and blended mowed lawn and twisted citron (bottom).  I then die cut another piece of Neenah solar white cardstock using MFT’s “Grassy Fields” die-namics and also ink blended that piece.  Next, I stamped images onto a piece of Bristol smooth cardstock using Versamark ink then white heat embossed images.  I grabbed several Zig Clean Color markers to watercolor these adorable images.  I first added the color to the area of each image where I thought the shadows would be then pulled the color out using a light wash of water.  I chose the “You Make Me Smile” sentiment from the set and stamped sentiment onto ink blended panel and white heat embossed.  To finish, I assembled elements and adhered to card base.  These adorable images certainly make me smile and hope they make you smile too!  Thanks so much for stopping by…take care!

Red Geraniums

 Red Geraniums…

Hello Friends and welcome!  Today’s card features this lovely floral set from Pretty Pink Posh (Geraniums stamp/coordinating die set) and Copic coloring.  To start, I stamped the geraniums cluster image several times and both large and small leaves images onto a piece of X-press It coloring paper using Memento Tuxedo dye ink.  I then die cut images using coordinating dies.  Next, I began Copic coloring images.  I then wanted to add a little interest to the background so I ink blended a piece of Neenah solar white cardstock using Salvaged Patina Distress ink.  Once panel was ink blended, I assembled and arranged the flowers and leaves onto the panel, before adhering the images I stamped sentiment from the Pretty Pink Posh Everyday Greetings set using Altenew Obsidian pigment ink.  To finish, I adhered panel to a red card base and added a few Pretty Pink Posh flat white sequins.  Thanks so much for stopping by…take care!

Bouquet For You

Bouquet For You…

Hello Friends and welcome!  Today’s card features a lovely floral set from My Favorite Things (Freshly Picked Bouquet) and a loose watercoloring technique using Mijello Mission Gold watercolors.

To start, I stamped image onto a piece of trimmed white watercolor paper using Versamark ink then white heat embossing image.  Next, I began watercoloring.  Using a loose technique, I added color using a wet brush applied directly to image, not worrying to much about light or shadows.  I moved over the image adding color to a certain flower/leaf then went back over adding a little more intensity of color, but not fussing to much.

Once panel was dry, I then added color to the background by lightly ink blending Distress Ink Salvaged Patina using a ink blending brush.  I wanted a light color to add a little interest to the background but not to much.

To finish, I stamped sentiment using Versafine Clair pigment ink in Acorn, adhered panel to a cream card base using a piece of trimmed fun foam, then added a few dew drops embellishments from Pretty Pink Posh.

Thanks so much for stopping by…take care!

Berry Special

Berry Special…

Hello friends and welcome!  Today’s card features this super cute new Spring Release set from Lawn Fawn “Berry Special” and Copics coloring.  I chose a clean and simple (CAS) design style for this card, really wanted to show off the cute mice and their yummy berries!  Who wouldn’t enjoy spending a warm sunny spring day picking strawberries with these Berry adorable mice?!

To start, I die cut a stitched rectangle from a piece of Neenah solar white cardstock, then stamped and die cut the images using the coordinating dies.  There are so many fun and cute images from this set, it was hard just picking a few to go along with the CAS style.

After stamping and die cutting, I chose a red/orange and red/violet Coptic color palette for the berries and some simple greens and browns for the mice/basket and leaves.  Just wanted some simple and easy coloring/shading for the images.

To finish, I wanted a little more detail for the background but still keeping with the CAS theme, I ink blended a strip pattern using a stencil onto a piece of MFT’s boysenberry cardstock and used the matching ink to ink blend.  I then stamped the sentiment and to adhere the images onto the panel, I chose both foam squares and glue to add a little dimension.

Thanks so much for stopping by…hope you have a Berry Special Day and take care!

Merry Mice

Merry Mice...
Hello Friends and welcome!  For today’s card, I’m showcasing this adorable Holiday set from Avery Elle (Christmas Mice) and Copic coloring.  These mice are just the cutest and the set is packed full of fun images to create a fun and festive scene.
To start, I stamped images onto X-press it blending card using Memento Tuxedo dye ink.  After all the stamping was complete, I die cut the images using the coordinating dies.
I next began Copic coloring the images using a traditional Christmas color palette including reds and greens, with a touch of yellow.
To create the background which I hoped would ground this festive scene, I die cut Avery Elle polka dot backdrop, then used the cut out as a stencil.  I ink blended Distress Ink in Hickory Smoke on a piece of Neenah solar white cardstock before die cutting the panel using a Wonky Stitched rectangle.  To help ground the scene even more, I stamped and die cut the “picnic blanket” from Lawn Fawn’s Crazy Antics stamp/die set.  I just love having the ability to mix and match from companies, really can stretch your crafty stash supplies.
Once I had the majority of the elements completed, I stamped the sentiment onto a piece of black cardstock, white heat embossed, and finally fussy cut.  To finish, I assembled the elements and adhered to a black cardstock card base.
Sending everyone Holiday Merriment and Cheer!  Thanks so much for stopping by...take care!

Season of Blessings

Season of Blessings...
Hello Friends and welcome!  Sharing this project today which features an absolutely adorable set from Hello bluebird (Fall Banner Buddies), Copic coloring, and Ink Blending using Distress Inks (forest moss and gathered twigs).
To begin, I stamped several images from this set onto X-press it blending card using Memento Rich Cocoa dye ink.  Once images where stamped, I die cut these using the coordinating die set.  Next, I Copic colored each image.
After the images where colored, I began working on my background.  I chose the Knitted Sweater BG stamp from MyFavoriteThings using Ripe Avocado dye ink from Paper Trey Ink onto a piece of coordinating cardstock.  I then die cut a piece of Cream cardstock from SimonSaysStamp using Lawn Fawn’s small stitched squares die set.  I ink blended the bottom portion of the square using the above mentioned inks.
To finish, I assembled the elements then adhered to a SimonSaysStamp Cream cardstock card base.  The finished card measures 4 1/4 x 4 1/4 square card.
Thanks so much for stopping by today...Happy Thanksgiving!

Many Thanks

Many Thanks...

Hello Friends and welcome!  Fall has fully arrived in my neck of the woods and I find myself moving away from bright and bold colors of summer to more jewel and/or muted tones for my cards.  Today’s card features just that idea where with Copics, I chose a more rustic feel and wanted the colors to evoke the feeling of a crisp Fall day.

Today’s card features this super cute set from Avery Elle (Aw, Nuts) and Copic coloring.  Isn’t the tiny coffee cup just the cutest?!  To start, I stamped the squirrel/nut house and several leaves from the set and die cut using the coordinating die.  I thought having the nut house hang from a tree branch would add a little more interest to the card without taking away from the CAS (Clean and Simple) feel of the card.  I dug through my Avery Elle stash and found a tree branch from another cutie set (O Tiny Tree).  I masked part of the “tree” off and stamped, then die cut using the coordinating die then fussy cutting the bottom portion.

After the images where die cut, I then Copic colored images.  Next, I die cut a piece of Lawn Fawn’s white woodgrain cardstock and die cut a stitched circle from kraft cardstock.

To finish, I stamped sentiment onto a piece of black cardstock and white heat embossed.  I trimmed the sentiment then assembled elements before adhering to a kraft cardstock card base.  Thanks so much for stopping by...take care!
